This weekend we stayed quite close to home having had a big bike ride the day before - but more about that another time. I’ve cycled and driven past Longniddry plenty of times before but never thought about swimming there, so this weekend we decided to change that.
There are several car parks at Longniddry, and where you park kind of depends on what kind of beach you want. Longniddry 1 and 2 feel like “proper” beaches in that they have sand, albeit around a few rocks at 2. The car park at Longniddry 3 gives you some sand, but if you hang a bit of a right out of the car park you can wander up to some amazing rocks and what looks like the remains of some kind of structure from WW2.
It’s a bit sharp on the old ankles - and Al was definitely on the chilly side heading in - but it was a lovely way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon as the days start getting shorter.
